Recently, six enterprises jointly invested 1.5 billion yuan to build an international hot spring health culture industrial park in Yuexi County. This project has become the largest investment attraction project in Yuexi. Yuexi activates the eco-economic sector by virtue of its ecological advantages. Last year, the county introduced 16 projects with investment of more than 50 million yuan, of which 8 projects with investment of more than 100 million yuan and 1 project with investment of more than 1 billion yuan, achieving a GDP of 3.7 billion yuan, an increase of 13% over the same period last year.
Yuexi County has a 75% forest coverage rate and obvious ecological advantages. In recent years, with the improvement of basic traffic conditions, the attractiveness of investment has increased rapidly. However, Yuexi insists on maintaining the ecological environment, resolutely implements the one-vote veto of EIA, and rejects projects of chemical industry, high energy consumption, loss of ecological resources and high emissions. Relevant departments have declined the presence of more than 10 enterprises engaged in wood and bamboo products processing and ceramic manufacturing, with an investment of hundreds of millions of yuan.
Yuexi County also takes investment promotion as a breakthrough to cultivate ecological agriculture, ecological industry and ecological tourism industry chain. On the basis of consolidating the three characteristic industries of tea, mulberry and picking, a number of new industries such as Camellia oleifera, Trichosanthes and ecological breeding were cultivated, and a number of agricultural industrialization projects with impetus were introduced. The Cuilan Industrial Park project, which was invested 200 million yuan by Huangshan businessmen, was officially launched; the county development zone was also selected as the "100 ecological parks" of the whole country; a number of projects with over 100 million yuan in investment, such as the production base of medium-sized machinery and agricultural machinery, marine diesel engine supercharger, were settled in succession; and a number of large projects, such as the Hot Spring International Health Culture Industrial Park and the Erzudao Farm of Sikongshan, also settled in Yuexi. The county has also been listed as the key area of famous green tea in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River and the largest cocoon-producing County in the province.
